1st Day of School 2013-2014

Well it's that time of year for us!  In the words of Billy Madison, "Back to scho-oll, back to Scho-oll!"

We finally have 2 in school!  Eli is in 3rd grade & Noah is starting Kindergarten.  The big boys and I had a blast shopping for school supplies last week.  It was SO fun watching Noah be SO excited.  Everything that Eli got, he wanted to know if he needed it too!  I let them each pick out a new t-shirt to wear on their first day.  Eli pick Star Wars and Noah chose a very subtle lime green Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Shirt.  Aren't you proud Aunt Lacey? :)

They were up bright and early, ready to go.  Since this year brings an extra kid in school (extra work for mom), we are really trying to get them to take on some more responsibility.  I'll still pack their lunch (for now), if they don't like what I pack, they get to pack it.  They are in charge of their water bottles, snack, and folders.  If they don't pack it, they don't get it!  :)  They keep repeating that to each other.  I think they think they are being neglected! LOL

Anyway here are some snapshots of this morning!

3/4 of the crazy team!

Eli
3rd Grade 2013-2014
61 lbs.  4 ft. 6 in.

Noah
Kindergarten 13-14
41 lbs. 3 ft. 10 in.

Kindergarten is EPIC!

Not to be left out-Jonah!

Eli in class!

Noah saying, "No I will not smile!"

"Seriously Mom, I mean it!  You can leave now!"

We had NO tears from either one and not even the slightest sign of anxiety!  They did SO great!  I didn't even cry!  I felt a little guilty because it was so nice having a quiet house.  I never thought that I'd think 2 kids at home was quiet!  But it was!  Jonah and I played with Play-doh, he played quietly off & on, and enjoyed choosing his own afternoon movie without anyone's opinion!  It was a very pleasant day! :)

I'm excited about this year!  I know that Noah is going to grow leaps and bounds this year.  And Eli, well, I'm hoping he stops growing!  He's on track to pass me very soon!  I'm also excited to spend some quality time with Jonah!  He's already excited about being the "BIG" brother at home during the day.  He springs into action when he hears Micah fuss!

I'm sure this year will have it's challenges.  They always do!  But I know that God will give us the grace and strength to handle it!  He always does!
